Back To School Portraits are back! 

OCTOBER 14, 9:30-11:30am 

• Individualized attention!
• Professional Portrait of your Child

Please sign up for a time slot by clicking the link below. Please indicate the number of slots per person you are having photographed. Times will be for 30 minute windows and first come first served during that time period.

Please pay your session fee BEFORE the session by going to my blog at danelle-empey.blogspot.com and clicking on the Paypal link for school session. (You DO NOT need a Paypal account to pay via Paypal. Just a debit or credit card.) Once you have paid I will email you the address of the event in Springfield, VA.

Sessions are a minimum of $25/child and $15/additional child.

Back to School Mini Portrait Sessions on Monday, October 9 from 9:00 am to 11:30 am in Lorton, VA.

$25 for the first child and $15 for each additional child of the same family.

What you get: Individualized Attention, Professional Portrait of your Child, High-Resolution Digital File, Discounted Print Packages, and a Print Release.

Sign up each of your children individually for a time slot. You must prepay $25 for at least one of your children using my blog at danelle-empey.blogspot.com. There is a link to Paypal. You can pay with a debit or credit card, or your Paypal account. The balance can be paid the day of the event.

Proceeds from this event will be donated to Type 1 International.  For more information on their cause, go to https://www.t1international.com/

Images will be edited and sent to you in a private online gallery where you can download the image (free) as well as order prints and packages at a reduced cost.

Back To School Portraits

For the past 4 years I have done Back To School Portraits.  This year I have decided to donate all the proceeds to the organization Type 1 International, an organization dedicated to providing insulin to people with diabetes around the world.

Many of you know that my oldest daughter, Eliza, has Type One Diabetes.  For parents of children with Type One, and for those who live with it, one of our biggest fears is what we would do if access to insulin, the life-sustaining medicine, were to be inaccessible. For too many people around the world, in war-torn countries, countries with limited health care, or impoverished nations, this is their reality.  I have decided to make this event a chance to help others who are literally living my nightmare.

The sessions will take place in the home of my friend, Lea Lines, who has a son and husband with Type One Diabetes.

Session donations are a minimum of $25/child and $15/additional child.  But of course you are welcome to donate whatever you would like.

Newborn Session

I try to keep up with posting my sessions, I really do.  I know it's April and I haven't posted since January.  And it's not like I haven't been photographing, I just don't get around to putting them up on the blog like I used to.  How long do I get to use the twins as an excuse?

Rose - Newborn Baby Session {Photography by Danelle Empey, Photographer}

I may be a bit biased but I think the name Rose is just beautiful for a little girl.  Of course, I gave that name to my own little girl as her middle name.  This little Rose was just as sweet.  I love it when they fall asleep!  So tender and peaceful.

One of the many benefits of being a photographer is getting to photograph my family. This is my handsome nephew, Austin, who came to DC to visit me for Spring Break. I loved having him here and it was fun to get to photograph him. I think we captured some great images!
