For
the past 4 years I have done Back To School Portraits. This year I have decided to donate all the
proceeds to the organization Type 1 International, an organization dedicated to
providing insulin to people with diabetes around the world.
Many
of you know that my oldest daughter, Eliza, has Type One Diabetes. For parents of children with Type One, and
for those who live with it, one of our biggest fears is what we would do if
access to insulin, the life-sustaining medicine, were to be inaccessible. For
too many people around the world, in war-torn countries, countries with limited
health care, or impoverished nations, this is their reality. I have
decided to make this event a chance to help others who are literally living my nightmare.
The
sessions will take place in the home of my friend, Lea Lines, who has a son and
husband with Type One Diabetes.
Session
donations are a minimum of $25/child and $15/additional child. But of
course you are welcome to donate whatever you would like.
